In the days before a hurricane makes landfall, the birds prepare by eating and eating and eating. Some will use this fuel to evacuate away from the storm to safety, some will shelter in place, finding refuge where they are, and others will fly directly into the eye, moving with the storm. These birds travel for miles over days or weeks ending their treks miles from home.
